Pancakes and Sermons

So as I open up into today it has been really nice. As usual on Tuesdays I went to breakfast at Danielle and Michelle's. I forget how much I like pancakes. As well in class we just had a prayer session for missions which is great. To be perfectly honest I feel ad though we do no pray enough. I find myself constantly trying to engage inspiritual battles without him.

On that note the girls sang in chapel today which was gorgeous and we also got to praise God with one of my favorite songs (hosana). We really do not carry around constant praise with us as well.

Now the chapel speaker is speaking about putting on the armor of God to fight Satan. I personally feel mildly adverse to the measage. Yes, we do need to do quiet times in full. As well the verse is talking about the bate with the deciever but I just feel as though we as a denimination (Sbc) focus on Satan that we miss out on God's testimony against man. The flesh is evil enough on it's own that as it is being dragged away from the new man it still has great affect. EVERY intention of the thoughts of man's heart is only evil continually. We are a depraved people apart from God. Romans spends three chapters making a testimony against man! Thanks be to Christ of Romans 5.

On a side note we are taught all the time about exegetical preaching so why is it that we always get topical sermons at chapel? I don't know. Almost time to go I'll write more later.

Do to the sheer large amount of time I have had today I feel like I have been able to get a lot if blogging done today. That and I suppose it helps that I keep having things happen. For instance...

I just got done sitting for an hour on the runway waiting to take off. I have to admit it was causing my patience to wane just a little bit. I'm not quite sure why either. It seems that we as people become extremely impatient waiting in a confined space (plane, car, lines) as if we would not be waiting just as much if we weren't in said confinement. I don't know. I figure it is a time for God to further refine my patience. Well at least God do considers those blessed who stand steadfast. Anyway I'm going to do some reading.

Cancelled flight!

So now I am on Albany with no flight. Do to a mechanical issue if seems that the plane can't fly. So the plan as it stands, is that I wait to see if the next flight fills up and if it doesn't then I make it on time. Blessedly God has put peace in my heart that has allowed me to tale this with a good bit of ease.

It is kind of funny because my parents are here, flying out on a booked flight and in comparison they are a good bit worried. I definitely did put my mind to prayer the moment I heard that there was trouble which I think helped contribute to the way I feel now. I also have full confidence that this situation is inside of God's will and if I can't trust him who can I trust.

On a side a note we were talking last night and discussing verses that we truly love and I came to realize that Romans 5 is probably my favorite chapter in the Bible. To think that one man's sin codemned the world and yet Jesus's one sacrafice is enough to atone for every sin that ever happened for the sake I his elect! That is definitely what I am going to preach on Sunday.

First

Well I am sitting at the endnof the conference waiting to head out and since I have some time.

So I was thinking as we get older we tend to drop words from vocabulary. For istance I was thinking of how to describe a friend and the word I was going to use was silly. THAT is a fun word. I'm going to put that back in my vocabulary definitely.

On a side note; the reason I am blogging again is purely out of the fact that I want to utilize my iPhone. This will be fun.
